Prayer of Confession (Unison)
O Lord, what a glorious day! Every day in your creation is filled with such light and hope! All around us the world rumbles and cries, yet when you rest in our hearts we find only peace, and the need for your generous love. We give thanks and praise that you know us, encourage us, and surround us with the promise of beauty, friendship and acceptance. So often we flee from that love. We turn to places of doubt and judgment, we forget our neighbor, we seek only our own safety and pleasure. Forgive us we pray! Mend our broken lives and careless thought. Draw us back to you, that we might always be your Easter people, sharing the glory of your Victory, the assurance that all are children of your kingdom. Forgive us, dear lord, and heal us, in the name of Jesus in whose name we pray. Amen. |
||
(A moment for silent reflection)
Assurance of Forgiveness
Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, was risen for us, and reigns in power over us. Sisters and brothers hear this good news. Through Christ we are forgiven and reconciled with the Creator of all. |

Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
