God of the apostles and prophets, so often we claim ,'The Church, reformed, always reforming,' but accept counsels of fear and doubt. We believe your Gospel is true for all people, but we act as if many others are competitors or enemies first and brothers or sisters second. As Paul has taught us, we are all saints, new creations, in Christ. Forgive us when we fall short of your glory and renew us as we come to your Table. This is your day and we are your people for which we give you honor, glory, and praise forever through Jesus and by the power of your Holy Spirit. Amen. |

We trust in God the Holy Spirit, everywhere the giver and renewer of life. The Spirit justifies us by grace through faith, sets us free to accept ourselves and to love God and neighbor, and binds us together with all believers in the one body of Christ, the Church. In a broken and fearful world the Spirit gives us courage to pray without ceasing, to witness among all peoples to Christ as Lord and Savior, and to work with others for justice, freedom and peace. |
