ONE: May the peace of Christ be with you.
ALL: And also with you.

Leader: Thus says the Lord: In a time of favor I have answered you, on a day of salvation I have helped you.
People: Sing for joy, O heavens, and exult, O earth; break forth, O mountains, into singing!
Leader: I have kept you and given you as a covenant to the people. I have inscribed you on the palms of my hands.

Leader: Let us worship God!

ALL: You call us to be servants of Christ and stewards of your mysteries, O God. Yet, we resist the basin and towel of discipleship and hesitate to wash others with the waters of our baptism. We shy away from the mysteries of the gospel and settle for comfortable truths. We know it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy, yet we are seldom worthy of the trust you place in us. Bring to light the things now hidden in darkness as in Christ you forgive us our sin.

Leader: Paul reminds us that it is the Lord who judges us.

Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

O God, you rule over all. The sun rises on the just and the unjust. You care for all. Let that which we offer be in response to your incredible mercy. Let that which we do be dependent on your grace. Accept what we bring as signs of our endurance in faith. Lead us forth with persistence, that your way shall be known.
