ONE: May the peace of Christ be with you.
ALL: And also with you.

Leader:  Make a joyful noise all the earth!
ALL: Break forth in joyous song to the God of victory!
Leader: Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; the world and those who dwell in it!
ALL:  With trumpets and the sound of the horn we make a joyful noise as we worship God.

ALL: Righteous God, who deem it just to repay with affliction those who mistreat your children, forgive the sins we commit which harm our neighbors.  Temper your vengeance when we claim not to know you.  Ease your wrath when we fail to obey the gospel Christ taught.  Let the glory of your might undergird our endeavors, as through Christ you deliver us from our weakness and shame.  O God, have mercy upon us and fill us with your splendor.

Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.

Lord, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that as the Scriptures are read and your Word is proclaimed, we may hear with joy what you say to us today.  AMEN
