Welcoming | My Peace (As we return to our seats.) | Rev. Christine Dickerson |
On this Sunday, O God, we feel the coming presence of the Christ, looking forward to the time of the advent of his birth and the reality his life with us, God with us. It is a joy too wonderful to fathom, and our grateful hearts sing to you for this life of grace and redemption, the Scripture fulfilled. Help us to look into our own hearts, and open them to receive the love that will change the world forever. Forgive us the sins of humanity and lift us out of darkness and into your light. Let us not grieve for sorrows past, but embrace the promise that is coming for us, a promise of hope and eternal life. In you, O Creator, with confidence we place our faith and trust as you lead us forward into life, in Jesus’ name. Amen. |

Life of the Church | Special Music | Rev. Christine Dickerson |
Hear the Good News! Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Know you are forgiven and be at peace. Amen. |
||
Passing of the Peace | Come, Ye Thankful People, Come | Congregation |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |

Prelude | Gloria Patri | Praise Band |
Lord, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that as the Scriptures are read and your Word is proclaimed, we may hear with joy what you say to us today. Amen |
