Welcoming | My Peace | Rev. Christine Dickerson |
We give thanks, O God, on this second Sunday after Christmas, for the freshness of a new year and a new beginning. The days that lay before us are untouched and filled with possibility. We have been reminded of the amazing presence of God-with-us, and what that means in our lives. We are excited that we can change, be renewed, be unafraid and embrace our days with confidence. Help us, we pray, to build our faith and forgive us when we fall away in our humanity. Our desire is always for you, for you are our light and our joy. We ask these things in the name of Jesus, the Christ. Amen. |

Passing of the Peace | The Holly and the Ivy | Congregarion |
Hear the Good News! Who is in a position to condemn? Only Christ, and Christ died for us, Christ rose for us, Christ reigns in power for us, Christ prays for us. Anyone who is in Christ is a new creation. The old life has gone; a new life has begun. Know you are forgiven and be at peace. Amen. |

Life of the Church | We Three Kings of Orient Are | Elder Carole Rogers |
Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the Kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen. |
||
Prelude | Gloria Patri | Alex Danson |
Lord, open our hearts and minds by the power of your Holy Spirit, that as the Scriptures are read and your Word is proclaimed, we may hear with joy what you say to us today. Amen |

Call to Worship (Responsive) | Lo, How a Rose E'er Blooming | Elder Carole Rogers |
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen |
